CBI plea may be taken up tomorrow

Lucknow Feb. 26. The hearing on the permission sought by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to start the pending trial against 21 accused, including the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, in the Ayodhya demolition case is likely to be taken up tomorrow.

The case, which was scheduled to come up for hearing in the court of the District Judge, J.M. Paliwal, today could not be taken up following the death of a local bar member here. Earlier on February 21, the CBI had moved the court, seeking permission to start the case against 21 accused in the case at Rae Bareli.

The CBI had also pleaded before the court to allow shifting of relevant documents to Rae Bareli.

Besides Mr. Advani, the accused in the case include the Human Resource Development Minister, Murli Manohar Joshi, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh, and Uma Bharati among others.
