Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
By Our Special Correspondent
Scenes similar to the ones in them took place in real life when the unemployed came to deposit their application forms on the last day for submitting applications for the post of LD clerks in various departments in the main office of the PSC at Pattom today. A large number of persons had turned up, especially during the fag end of the office hours, as the new applications forms were in short supply with some managing to get them only this morning. Parking of vehicles and moving around were difficult because of it. According to complainants and eyewitnesses, the security staff behaved rudely to many and tried to rough up those who questioned them over minor issues. They feel that the authorities should have foreseen the situation and made arrangements for handling the crowd instead of making the security staff add insult to the injury which the educated unemployed have been bearing like a cross for several years.
