In representations sent to the Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education, B. Kripanandam, and the District Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, the ZPTC members, B. Anatharamaiah (Vontimitta), C.B. Chalamaiah Yadav (Siddhavatam) and A. Ramakrishna Reddy (Atlur), said that the students would face practical difficulties and financial problems to go to new centres. The Upparapalli and Madhavaram centres were over 30 km away from Siddhavatam, they said. In view of drought, poor students would not be able to bear travel expenses of about Rs. 100 and bus facilities and their timings were also improper.
