PDP retains Pampore

Srinagar March 1. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has retained the Pampore seat in the byelection to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.

The PDP candidate, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, defeated his nearest National Conference (NC) rival, Mushtaq Ahmad Kuchay, by a margin of 12,782 votes. Mr. Mir polled 14,317 votes while Mr. Kuchay got 1,535 votes.
