Sops for cricketers

Sir, — The Union Finance Minister seems to have been swept by emotion at our team's victory over Pakistan in the World Cup. The sportsmanship shown by players of both the teams on the eve of the match and after augurs well for the game and to the nations. Gestures of this kind from a Minister will only send wrong signals. The country will be losing a few lakhs because of the IT exemption. This money could be used for encouraging other sports.

Ram,
Bangalore
