According to the police, Head Constable Ramanand and Constable Virender Singh of Mayapuri police station were patrolling in the area of Nangal Raya when they stopped an autorickshaw for search near CNG filling station around 1-15 p.m. The driver Mehar Chand, a resident of Raghubir Nagar, was arrested and 48 cases, containing 20 quarters each, were recovered from the vehicle. Mehar told the police that the liquor was meant for sale only in Rajasthan and that Ramesh Chowdhury, a resident of Sagarpur, was behind the smuggling racket. A case has been registered at Mayapuri police station and further investigations are on.
