Three suicide cases reported

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI MARCH 3. Three persons, including a woman, allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents reported from different parts of the Capital yesterday.

A 26-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling in his rented accommodation at Ambedkar Nagar in South Delhi yesterday.

According to the police, Naresh Kumar, a native of Shyamali in Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging in his room at C-Block Dakshinpuri by his younger brother.

A suicide note was recovered from the spot in which the deceased had mentioned that no one was responsible for his death.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Naresh had gone to sleep in his room around 11 p.m., while his brother slept in the other. When the younger brother went to wake up Naresh yesterday morning, he spotted the body.

The police said Naresh was a post-graduate in science and was looking for a government job. Naresh used to make living by taking tuitions and doing some private jobs. However, he was undergoing a phase of depression since he was not able to get a government job. In another incident, a 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house at Sangam Vihar in South Delhi yesterday. According to the police, the incident came to light around 11-30 a.m. when the neighbours spotted the body of Anita, wife of Rajesh, hanging from the ceiling in her house at E-Block Sangam Vihar.

Investigations revealed that Rajesh, who works in a factory, had left for work around 9 a.m. Earlier, the couple had fought over a petty issue in the morning. Rajesh was married to Anita six years ago and has a four-year-old son from the marriage.

At Patel Nagar in West Delhi, a 38-year-old sweeper with the MCD allegedly burnt himself to death in his house yesterday.

According to the police, Rajesh, a resident of New Ranjeet Nagar, went to the first floor of his house and locked himself in the only room around 7 a.m. He then poured kerosene oil and set himself afire. Rajesh died on the spot.
