Varanasi March 4. Six persons were injured in stone-throwing by a mob in Adampura area of the city today following the desecration of two mausoleums and a few graves by miscreants last night.

The injured included a journalist and policemen. One person had been arrested in connection with the desecration.

Tension gripped the area in the morning when people noticed that the mausoleums and graves had been damaged.

The locals blocked the G. T. Road and staged a demonstration before the Adampura police station demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

Senior police and civil officers were monitoring the situation and additional police forces have been deployed in the area. — UNI
