In a joint statement here today, the CITU, AITUC, STU and UTUC said autorickshaws, taxis and lorries would keep off the road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The statement said KSRTC buses, ambulances, milk vans and newspaper vehicles would be allowed to operate. In another statement, the BMS-affiliated union, which too would be on strike, asked private vehicle owners also to cooperate with the strike. The INTUC too is participating in the strike.
