Last date for IT returns

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM March 5. The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (IT) has notified that those coming under the certain categories should file their IT returns before March 31.

These include individuals owning a house of more than 1,500 sq. ft. or shop/building of more than 225 sq. ft. in Corporation/municipal area, or house of more than 2,000 sq. ft. or shop/building of more than 300 sq. ft. in rural areas.

This is also applicable to those owning motor vehicles other than two-wheelers, mobile phone subscribers, those having travelled abroad, those who have incurred expenses of foreign travel of others, credit card holders and those having membership in clubs with fees exceeding Rs. 25,000.
