Ugandan Vice-President calls on Jayalalithaa

CHENNAI MARCH 5. The Vice-President of Uganda, Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe, today called on the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, at the Secretariat here.

Praising the efforts taken by the Chief Minister to make the State malnutrition-free, the Ugandan Vice-President said her country had a lot to learn from the State's schemes for women and children. She also appreciated the self-help group movement in Tamil Nadu.

The Ugandan leader invited Ms. Jayalalithaa to visit her country.

The Director of the Intelligence Bureau, K.P. Singh, also chairman of the All-India Police Sports Control Board, called on Ms. Jayalalithaa.

He expressed his appreciation of the modernisation of the police force in Tamil Nadu and the setting up of all-women police stations.

He also praised the concerted efforts at fighting extremism and terrorism.
