In an affidavit filed before a Bench comprising Justice Usha Mehra and Justice Pradeep Nandrajog in response to the Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy's Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition against the Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the agency said that "at present since no criminal case relating to the subject matter is pending investigation, it may not be feasible to send a Letter Rogatory to the Italian Judicial Authority for seeking information." In reply to Dr. Swamy's another petition against Ms. Gandhi's family receiving ``financial favours'' from the erstwhile Soviet Union's intelligence agency KGB, the CBI said verifying information about this "appears improbable" but it was trying to do the same through available soruces "discreetly". Further hearing of the matter was adjourned to March 24. PTI
