All-party meet on Iraq

New Delhi March 6. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, has convened an all-party meeting on Monday in a bid to evolve a consensus on the Iraq crisis, official sources said tonight.

Mr. Vajpayee told the Lok Sabha on March 3 that there was need to find a middle path to resolve the crisis. He had also given an assurance that the Government would make arrangements to bring back 40 lakh Indian nationals from the Gulf region in case of war.

Mr. Vajpayee had said he had met several foreign dignitaries on the issue, but none had assured him that a war could be averted. — PTI
