Tamil FM radio launch today

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI MARCH 6 . Suryan FM, the first private Tamil FM radio in India, would launch its service in Coimbatore and Tirunelveli tomorrow.

The Chennai radio station will go on air from mid-April. According to a release from Suryan FM, part of the Sun network, there would be substantial localisation of content to retain the regional flavour.

"The interactive element will encourage everyone to make their own broadcasting," it added.

The reach of the Suryan FM stations would be more than a 120 km radius covering the neighbouring districts too.
