dated March 8, 1953: Preserve pavements for pedestrians

N.V.K. Swami, in a letter to the Editor, commended a West Bengal decision to removed hawkers from the pavements of Calcutta by accommodating them in specially built shops, and requested the Madras Corporation to take similar action so that pedestrians would be able to use pavements.
