The Kozhikode Crime Branch Special Investigation Group (III) produced Ms. Janu and Mr. Geethanandan before the court in the morning. Both were taken to the sub-jail in Kozhikode. The court also extended the judicial remand of 103 accused in the case of violent incidents at Muthanga to another 14 days. Some of them were taken to the sub-jail in Kozhikode and the others to the Central Jail in Kannur. On Thursday, the court had extended the remand of 32 Adivasis at the Central Jail till March 20. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch officials decided to stop the interrogation of Ms. Janu in connection with the case. The court had given the police permission to question her till March 7. But the police said she did not extend full cooperation to their interrogation. Sources said Ms. Janu now regretted that two persons including a tribal had been killed in the bloody clashes between the agitators and police inside the sanctuary on February 19.
