As students taking the higher secondary examination under the science stream had a "rest day" (today's examination was in Political Science), there was a heavy rush at many of the centres, where the students were given priority tokens, so that they could come back another day. The students who came to the centres were given a blank proforma, in which they filled personal details as also pasted a photograph. The details of the form were entered into a computer. Then the students were photographed by a digital camera. At a third node, the students were issued hall tickets containing the personal details, as well as digitised photographs. The examination centre was also randomly selected by the computer itself. At the Anna University and the Veterinary College, Chennai, a large group of students had gathered since morning. A professor in charge of the Statistics and Computer Applications department at the Veterinary College said about 500 tokens were distributed. The process went on smoothly.
