Lufthansa told to compensate

NEW DELHI MARCH 9. The German airliner, Lufthansa, has been ordered to pay Rs. 5 lakhs to Indian passengers by a West Bengal consumer court for serving meals, which had many glass pieces, while on a flight from Amsterdam to Frankfurt over five years ago.

``It is strange to note that an international airlines has no machinery in place to check the quality of food supplied to the passengers on board as otherwise this type of detection of broken glass particles would not have occurred,'' the West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission said.
