TNEB call centre to receive complaints soon

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI MARCH 10 . A computerised call centre to receive complaints from consumers in the city will be commissioned by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board shortly.

The centre can be accessed at 1912.

This is in response to widespread complaints that consumers cannot memorise telephone numbers of `fuse off' call offices or breakdown services.

Announcing this at a public hearing held today on the power tariff revision proposal submitted by the TNEB, the chairman, K. Gnanadesikan, informed the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulation Commission that there would be 10 operators attached to the new call centre who would take the complaints round the clock. """The call centre will be opened during 2003-04," he said.
