SCR to run summer specials

HYDERABAD March 12. As part of efforts to clear the extra rush during summer, the South Central Railway will run special trains between Howrah - Bangalore and Howrah - Chennai. Train No 0803/0804 Howrah - Bangalore - Howrah weekly summer special will be introduced to run from Howrah every Thursday and from Bangalore every Saturday.

Accordingly, No. 0803 Howrah - Bangalore - Howrah express will leave Howrah at 8.05 pm on every Thursday from April 17 to June 26 and reach Bangalore at 7.15 am on Saturday. The train will cover Rajahmundry (2.41 pm on Friday), Vijayawada 5.35 pm), Gudur (10.25 pm) and Renigunta (12.05 midnight) en route.

In the return direction, No. 0804 Howrah - Bangalore - Howrah express will depart from Bangalore at 11.30 pm every Saturday beginning April 19 and reach Howrah at 12.20 noon on Monday covering Ongole (11.41 am on Sunday), Vijayawada (2.45 pm) and Rajahmundry (4.36 pm) en route.

The train will have 15 coaches consisting of one AC 2-tier, 10 sleeper class, two general second class and two second class coaches.

Likewise, No. 0841 Howrah - Chennai - Howrah weekly summer special will leave Howrah every Wednesday at 3.25 pm from April 16 to June 25 and reach Chennai at 10.15 pm the next day covering Rajahmundry (9.45 am on Thursday), Eluru (11 am), Vijayawada (1 pm), Ongole (3 pm), Nellore (4.21 pm), Gudur (5.45 pm) en route. In the return direction, the train will leave Chennai central at 8.30 am on every Friday from April 16 to June 27 and reach Howrah at 3 pm the next day, according to a press release issued by the SCR.

Meanwhile, the SCR also decided to run a passenger special train from Hyderabad to Wadi to clear the extra rush of pilgrims attending the 25th Urs-e-Shareef of Hazrath-e-Quadeer at Wadi.

The Hyderabad-Wadi special train will leave from Hyderabad at 11 am on March 17 and arrive at Wadi at 4 pm the same day. In the return direction, the train will depart from Wadi at 11 am on March 19 and reach Hyderabad at 4 pm the same day, the SCR said in a separate press release.
