Wife of jailed RSP leader gang-raped
Kolkata
March 12.
The wife of a jailed RSP panchayat member was gang-raped at a village in South 24 Parganas district, even as the West Bengal Women's Commission today said that it was sending its own team to investigate the February 22 gang-rape of a CPI (M) mahila committee member at Ghoksadanga in Cooch Behar district.
A gang of five or six men raped the wife of the RSP member, Dilip Mirdha, last night at Tibkumar village, the police said. The victim has been sent for medical examination. Meanwhile, the State women's panel said that its two-member team was leaving for Ghoksadanga today, where a 12-hour bandh to protest the incident passed off peacefully.
