7 water units lose ISI licence

NEW DELHI MARCH 14. In a swoop on errant bottled drinking water manufacturers, the Government has cancelled the ISI quality mark licence of seven plants. The total number of bottled water companies facing cancellation of ISI licence has now risen to 20 in less than a month.

In its latest crackdown, the BIS has imposed ``stop marking'' order on Avon Food and Beverages of Hyderabad, Annam Associates of Eluru and Pallavi Industries of Visakhapatnam — all manufacturing Bisleri brand of drinking water.
