Rival DMK groups receive Karunanidhi at Kodaikanal

By Our Staff Reporter

DINDIGUL MARCH 14. The rival groups in the DMK today welcomed the party leader, M. Karunanidhi, at two different places in the plains as well as on Kodaikanal hills.

While the Stalin group led by the former Minister, I. Periasamy, along with partymen welcomed him at the Kodai Road railway station, on his arrival from Chennai this morning, sympathisers and followers of M.K. Azhagiri, Madurai-based elder son of Mr. Karunanidhi, waited at a private guesthouse at Batlagundu town, where the party chief made a brief halt before driving to Kodaikanal.

At Kodaikanal town, the Azhagiri followers led by Mayan gave a warm welcome to the president at Moonjikkal, while Stalin sympathisers led by Jeeva received him a few yards away. Mr. Karunanidhi is expected to stay at Kodaikanal for a week.
