Nearly 560 students from various parts of the country received all-India merit scholarships from the Centre for Human Resources Development (Education Division), Bangalore. The following students secured the top five ranks in various categories: Advance level Bhargav Varun of Kishore Kendra, Bangalore (1st rank); Jagan B. of the St. Patrick's High School, Hyderabad (2nd rank); Suhas N. of the New Cambridge High School, Vijayanagar, Bangalore (3rd rank); Amol B. Ghore of the Nehru English School (4th rank); and Harsha Bhat B of the Cordial High School, Bangalore (5th rank). Junior level Ashwini Naik of the MRPL School, Mangalore (1st rank); Netri B. Meti of the PDJ High School, Bijapur (2nd rank); Sowmya A. Anwekar of the Carmel Convent School, Jayanagar, Bangalore (3rd rank); Achal P. Bhat of the Little Flower Convent School, Solapur (4th rank); and Manjesh of the Bishop Sargent School, Tumkur (5th rank). The New Cambridge School, and the New Cambridge English School of Vijayanagar in Bangalore; the Nirmala Rani High School of Malleswaram in Bangalore; the Pine Wood High School of Vijayanagar; the Christ the King Convent Higher Primary School of Mysore; and the Ryan International School, Kundanahalli, were honoured with a special "Beacon of Student Community Award". The prizes were sponsored by MSIL.
