Sahay is next RAW chief

NEW DELHI
MARCH 15.
C.D.Sahay will be the next chief of India's external intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). An IPS officer of the 1967 batch (Karnataka cadre), Mr. Sahay will succeed Vicky Sood, who retires on March 31.
As the head of the RAW officially designated as Secretary (R) in the Cabinet Secretariat Mr. Sahay will bring to his new responsibility 28 years of experience as an intelligence officer. Since joining the RAW cadre in 1975, he has been posted in many neighbouring countries; his last overseas assignment was in London.
Mr. Sahay is known to have both operational and analytical experience, and has the reputation of being one of the most knowledgeable analysts of the Kashmir/Pakistan/international terrorism scene. In recent years, he was involved in sorting out most conflict situations, including the Kandahar hijacking.
