The OFT has achieved the feat by increasing production, cutting costs, improving labour productivity and maintaining higher quality control levels, according to the general manager, C. S. Sivakumar. The products of OFT are mainly sold to the Army, Navy, Air Force and paramilitary forces such as the Border Security Force, the CRPF, and almost all the State police organisations. The OFT has upgraded itself as a reliable supplier of quality armaments and the modern equipment had ensured higher production and quality output, Mr. Sivakumar said. The OFT has been sensitive towards environmental needs and a large area has been taken up for afforestation purposes. About 1.5 lakh saplings have been planted during the last two years.
