Infosys chief condemns Malaysia incident

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI March 15. The chairman of Infosys Technologies, N.R. Narayana Murthy, today condemned the ill-treatment of Indian IT professionals in Malaysia and urged the Government to sort out the issue quickly.

Responding to questions after a meeting of the RBI board, he felt there was no doubt that IT professionals should not be mistreated. For that matter, he said any foreigner on a legitimate mission should not be mistreated.

He said Nasscom had already taken up the issue and it should be sorted out fast. The Malaysian Government apologised for the incident but the Indian IT industry is still up in arms. He said the issue was being taken up by the Government and the Indian Ambassador. He expressed confidence that the Government would resolve the issue.
