Blast at Vashi

NAVI MUMBAI MARCH 15. A minor blast occurred outside the `Vashi Plaza' commercial building at Vashi, near the Mumbai-Pune highway, today. No one was injured in the incident.

A two kg gas cylinder, kept in a bag, exploded in the busy market area in sector 17, police said. The cylinder is used for refilling gas in air-conditioners and refrigerators. Police said a person was noticed holding a bag outside the plaza. However, he was not found at the time of the blast at around 7 p.m. Preliminary inquiries revealed that he had come to a tour operator's office at the plaza to book tickets for Udupi.
