One killed in clash between tazia processionists

PATNA MARCH 15. One person was killed and four injured at Pirbahore area here when members of two tazia processions fired and hurled bombs at each other this evening, police sources said.

The clash broke out as two tazia processions from Dujra and Karbigahia reached Makhania Kuan locality on Ashok Raj Path and one group tried to overtake the other, the sources said.

One Reyaj was killed on the spot, while four others who were injured were admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital.

The two processions were later allowed to proceed under heavy escort, the sources said adding that the situation in the locality was tense but under control.

Police station attacked

A mob today attacked the Bundelkhand police station in Nawada, torched several vehicles including a police jeep and made a bid to set the police station on fire in protest against the arrest of 12 persons following Friday's clash between members of two tazia processions. One person was reportedly injured. The situation was tense but under control.
