Internet services on trains, railway stations planned

NEW DELHI MARCH 18. Internet services may soon be available on trains and railway stations in the country. The RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, proposes to provide internet kiosks at the New Delhi Railway Station and internet service in one of the trains by way of a pilot project in 2003-2004. The train and route are under finalisation.

The Railway Ministry has issued detailed guidelines to the zonal units.
