At a press conference here, Mr. Togadia stressed on fighting terrorism on three fronts ideologically, with military might and across the border. The `jehadi' psychology could be defeated on a permanent basis by defeating `jehad' through construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya, he said and expressed the hope that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, the BJP and the Congress would support the VHP in its "fight". Demanding that the Muslim religious leaders issue a `fatwa' against those perpetrating terrorism in the country, he wondered why no `fatwa' was issued against those who attacked India's Parliament. On the Ramjanmabhoomi issue, he said the disputed site at Ayodhya should be handed over to the Ramjanmabhoomi Trust through a legislation which was a legal and acceptable solution. The undisputed land at Ayodhya should be handed over to the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas, he said adding the VHP would launch a `satyagraha' from March 27 to April 2. It would also agitate for the handing over of the Kasi and Mathura temples, Mr. Togadia said. Refuting the charge that he was a `communal terrorist', he said he did not draw inspiration from religious scriptures. Dubbing the claims of secularists dubious, he said communal harmony should prevail and at the same time the intolerance preached by Islam should be curbed. On the charge that the BJP had let loose the VHP, the RSS and the Bajrang Dal for meeting its political ends, Mr. Togadia said the VHP was behind the BJP for the welfare of the nation, and claimed that the Vajpayee Government was the best since Independence.
