Harmony award for Frontline Editor

New Delhi March 20. The Editor of the Frontline magazine, N. Ram, and Bal Ashram, a voluntary organisation, have been jointly selected for the Ramkrishna Jaidayal Harmony Award, 2000, for their outstanding contributions to preserving the country's unity and integrity.

The award, carrying a cash component of Rs. 1 lakh and a silver plaque, will be presented by Sri Ravi Shankar, of ``The Art of Living'' fame, at a function here on March 28.

``The award is presented to individuals for their outstanding achievement and contribution in fighting divisive tendencies such as regionalism, communalism, casteism and terrorism, which have lately destroyed the unity and integrity of our country,'' said a release of Organisation of Understanding and Fraternity, which has set up the award.

Bal Ashram is a Rajasthan-based transit rehabilitation centre run by the South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude (SACCS), engaged in rescuing and rehabilitating bonded children. — UNI
