Bowlers set India 'A' on course

Bridgetown March 24 . India `A' bowlers sliced through the batting of West Indies `B' to set up a winning opportunity in their rescheduled Carib Beer cricket match in Barbados. Medium pacer Jai Prakash Yadav took three for 18 off 14 overs and leg-spinner Amit Mishra, two for 27 off 13 overs, as India `A' fought back after conceding a first innings lead of 92 on Sunday.

India `A' must win the match outright to displace Trinidad and advance to the Carib International Challenge semifinals. Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica have already secured spots in the lineup. West Indies `B' stumbled to 115 for seven at close, ahead by 207.

Earlier in the day, India `A' resumed from 210 for three and was bowled out for 296 as it lost seven wickets for 86 runs.

India `A' rebounded through its bowlers. New ball pair Tinu Yohannan and Avishkar Salvi removed both openers before Yadav and Mishra rattled the middle order. Yohannan claimed captain Shane Jeffers (7) to a wicket- keeper's catch and Salvi trapped Patrick Browne (16) leg before wicket.

The scores West Indies `B' 388 and 115 (J.P. Yadav three for 18) vs India `A' 296 (Akash Chopra 58, Gautam Gambhir 108, Abhijit Kale 30, Ajay Ratra 38, A. Richardson three for 68, J. Bennett five for 73).
