These supplementary demands for grants aggregate to Rs. 491.28 crores and out of this, Rs. 213.76 crores is under Plan schemes, Rs. 95.29 crores under the centrally-sponsored schemes and Rs. 182.23 crore under the non-Plan. Under the Plan, an additional provision of Rs. 213.76 crores has been sought for various schemes and projects and for meeting committed liabilities. This expenditure is to be met by corresponding receipts for Plan funding from the Union Government. Some of the major expenditures proposed under the Plan are Rs. 86.87 crores, released additionally to the NJPC as share of the State in the equity and Rs. 21.78 crores were given as assistance to the State Electricity Board for various Plan schemes. Under different Centrally-sponsored schemes, a provision of Rs. 95.29 crores has been proposed. Prominent among them are Rs. 72.28 crores under different water supply programmes, Rs. 11 crores for Central transportation subsidy and also provisions for promotion of science education and DIETS in the education department. For non-Plan expenditure, Rs. 182.23 has been provided in the supplementary demands for grants. A major part of it Rs. 43.30 crores is one-time grant for meeting committed liabilities in the State transport corporation.
