Jet Airways raises fares

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MARCH 24. Jet Airways will increase its passenger fares by 15 per cent with effect from March 26. The private airlines said the upward revision of fares has been necessitated due to the 44 per cent hike in the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF). The domestic carrier, Indian Airlines, has already announced a similar hike in its fares.

Jet Airways said that tickets issued or reissued before March 25 on the existing fares will be valid for travel provided the journey commences on or before March 31 as per the itinerary. A passenger who has commenced the journey will be able to complete the journey at the pre-revised rates within the validity period of the tickets.

Tickets issued under the "Everyone Can Fly'' scheme on or after March 26 for travel commencing on or after April 10 will be on the revised fares, Jet said in a release here today.
