By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD March 24. A Junior Assistant working in the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Endowments, Kadapa Ramthu, was caught red-handed on Monday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths when he accepted Rs. 2,000 bribe from a complainant.

The JA demanded bribe when the Sri Ramaswamy temple Renovation Committee in-charge (of Venkatasettipally in Badvel) sought details of the permission accorded for utilising an amount of Rs. 15,000 for temple's renovation, according to a press release. He was arrested and later released on bail.

Increment cut

The Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD) authorities punished five of its employees with a cut in their increments as the latter were found guilty of corruption charges.

The punishment order came in the wake of findings by the

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths that the five employees had manipulated quotations relating to purchase of spare parts of Gas Plant and claimed bills for exorbitant rates, according to a press release.

Two increments of a Gas Operator, Krishna Swamy and one increment each of the Assistant Executive Engineer, C. Kapilamuni, Deputy Executive Engineer, M. Rama Murthy and Gas Operators, K. Gurunadham and N.V. Subrahmanyam were cut.
