Rs. 804 cr. credit plan unveiled

KARIMNAGAR MARCH 24. The Collector, Sumita Dawra, launched the annual credit plan outlay of Rs. 804 crores for 2003-04.

Of this, Rs. 710 crores would be earmarked for the priority sector and Rs. 94 crores for the non-priority sector. Speaking after releasing the annual plan here on Monday, the Collector said the projected crop loan in the annual credit plan was Rs. 326.06 crores.

The plan had taken care for providing enough credit for minor irrigation with a projection of Rs. 23.58 crores for improving the irrigation potential, mainly dug wells, borewells, irrigation pumpsets, drip irrigation sets, sprinkler sets etc. Under waste land development, reclamation of saline soils, vermiculture farm ponds, silt application, a projection of Rs. 244 lakhs was made.

Under the farm mechanisation, the plan projected an outlay of Rs. 35.74 crores by the banks during this year and for taking up horticulture crops it was allocated Rs. 766 lakhs in the annual plan. In the other agricultural activities such as sericulture, forestry and waste land development etc, the plan has projected Rs. 10.05 crores.

In order to develop the dairy activity, the action plan made a projection of Rs. 11.31 crores. For sheep\goat and piggery units, the plan projected an amount of Rs. 505 lakhs and for fisheries it was decided to allocate Rs. 13 lakhs.

#Under the non-farm sector, the plan made a projection of Rs. 154.73 crores, while in the other priority sector the projection was Rs. 129.94 crores.

The Collector said a financial assistance of Rs. 18 crores was extended to women self-help groups.

The lead district manager, A. Sharath Kumar, the AGM, S. Raghuram Prasad, the DRDA project director, T. Vijay Kumar, and others were present.
