Andhra Pradesh
By Our Staff Reporter
Yelisetty Rameshwar, a native of Rayanguda of Chintapally mandal and district committee member, topped the list with Rs. 3 lakhs. The DIG also handed over cheques under rehabilitation package to four former naxalites at a function organised at the Police Parade grounds here. Addressing the surrendered naxalites, Mr. Naidu said: "There is a wide gap between what the PW says and does.'' The Collector, R.P. Sisodia, maintained that naxalism lost its relevance. Naxalites were becoming commission agents, he alleged and appealed to them to join the mainstream. The SP, V.C. Sajjanar, called upon people not to provide shelter to them. The OSD, Viswaprasad, dubbing naxalism an `obsolete theory,' asked the cadre to give up arms and join the mainstream.
