Kalam condemns carnage

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MARCH 26. The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has condemned the massacre in Jammu and Kashmir and said he was deeply pained and anguished over the killing of innocent people, including women and children.

"No cause, no religion, no ideology and no grievance, imaginary or real, justifies such heinous acts. This is another attempt by militants to create hurdles in the process of normalisation and rehabilitation in the State'', he said in a statement. Dr. Kalam said he was sure that "this tragic and highly condemnable incident" would not stand in the way of rehabilitating the people and bringing peace and normality to the State.
