Railway concession for patients

NEW DELHI MARCH 26. The Railway Ministry has announced concession to cancer, thalassemia and heart patients travelling in AC 3-Tier, AC Chair Car, AC 2-Tier and AC First Class in mail and express trains, except the Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Jana Shatabadi express trains, from next month.

Effective from April 1, the concession will be 74 per cent in AC 3-Tier and AC Chair car and 50 per cent in AC 2-tier and AC First Class.

One attendant travelling with the patient will also get the same concession.

The concession in Second, Sleeper and First class would continue to be 75 per cent for such patients and their companion.
