Armed miscreants, suspected to be members of the Ramchandra Choudhary gang, kidnapped NCP leader Mohammed Salauddin and his five associates at Daun in Auraiya forest under Govardhana police station while they were going to address a party meeting. Mr. Salauddin had contested the last Assembly elections from Ramnagar constituency in West Champaran district and had finished second. The five associates, kidnapped with him have been identified as Iqbal Ahmad, Nazar Khan, Dharu Mian, Jabar Hussan and Saluddin's driver Lal Babu Sah. The NCP's national secretary and three-time Chief Minister of Bihar, Jagannath Mishra, and other party leaders have expressed shock at the kidnapping. --PTI
