Fuel station commissioned

Pondicherry March 26. The Local Administration and Fisheries Minister, A. Elumalai, today commissioned a fuel station for benefit of fishermen at Thengaithittu near here under a scheme of the Fishermen Cooperative Federation. He also distributed cash prizes to students proficient in SSLC, Matriculation and Plus-Two examinations in 2001-02. A family bereaved of the death of a fisherwoman was also presented an insurance amount of Rs 20,000.

The government whip, P. Rajavelu, and the DMK legislator, M.A.S. Subramanian, and officials of the Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department were present. The fuel station was installed in collaboration with the Bharath Petroleum Corporation, a release here said.
