PM hopeful of early end to Iraq war

BATNI (M.P.) MARCH 27. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, today hoped that the U.S-led war on Iraq would end soon and affirmed India's stand that issues should not be resolved through use of force but through the United Nations.

Mr. Vajpayee said he had conveyed the country's stand to the U.S. President, George W. Bush, telling him that he should discuss the matter with the U.N. The U.S. had stated that it had no option but to use force against Iraq, he told reporters here after dedicating a watershed project.
