I was used by ISI, says ex-terrorist

GURDASPUR MARCH 27. Former Punjab militant Wassan Singh Zaffarwal today claimed that he had been used as a pawn by Pakistan's ISI and he had never been in favour of a separate Sikh state of `Khalistan'. Talking to journalists at his native village, Zaffarwal, near here, he said the ISI had time and again used Pakistan-based terrorists to destabilise India. He, along with other militants, had taken shelter across the border, as they had no option but to follow the dictates of the ISI he added. Zaffarwal, a founder member of the first Panthic Committee formed in the Golden Temple complex in 1986, was released on bail yesterday after two years in Jalandhar central jail. .-- UNI
