Free psychiatric camp

Chennai March 27. A free psychiatric health check-up and follow-up camp is being held by the Public Health Centre, West Mambalam, with the primary goal of spreading awareness that mental illness is just as common as physical ailments, and can be managed or cured with drugs and counselling.

Hoping to identify those with conditions such as schizophrenia, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety disorder, and providing them sustained treatment, the PHC is launching its project on March 30. The centre, located at 174, Lake View Road, West Mambalam, can be contacted over telephone: 2489 3172.
