Sir, Refer Neena Vyas' article ` A fund for the needy or greedy? ' (March 16): I would rather say that the fund is meant only for our greedy MPs. There are many ills in the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme). Crores of rupees (around Rs. 1,580 crores) are spent every year for no good work as seen in most of the constituencies. In J&K, we have 10 MPs (six in the Lok Sabha and the rest in the RS) which means our MPs have Rs. 20 crores to spend. Over a five-year period they have Rs. 100 crores. Our MPs spend the money but only on paper.
