Coetzer made to sweat

CHARLESTON (South Carolina) April 8. Amanda Coetzer, the 1998 champion, came from a set down on Monday to reach the second round of the $1.3 million Family Circle Cup.

The No. 10 seed from South Africa, a tournament winner in Acapulco last month, fought back to defeat Czech Denisa Chladkova 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
