An SP ploy, says Katiyar

Lucknow April 11. The Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP, which had adopted a tough posture against the Chief Minister, Mayawati, for her controversail remarks about Hindu gods, today softened its stand saying the release of a CD containing her comments was a ploy of the Samajwadi Party to drive a wedge between the saffron party and the BSP.

``Mayawati has not said a word against Lord Ram and from as much we have seen in electronic media there was no profanity against the Hindu religion,'' the State BJP president, Vinay Katiyar, told PTI here.
