Earlier on Thursday, West Indies had scored 237 all out with Shivnarine Chanderpaul hitting the third fastest hundred in Test history. It could have been a lot worse for the home team, which was reduced to 53 for five before Chanderpaul, batting in front of his home crowd, helped it to relative respectability. The West Indies was also boosted by an undefeated, one-legged half-century by Ridley Jacobs, who batted with a runner after straining a hamstring. He was left stranded on 54 as the wickets fell around him on a day when four West Indies players were dismissed for ducks and six failed to make double figures. SCOREBOARD
4-47, 5-53, 6-184, 7-184, 8-222, 9-236.
