Before annexing the doubles title, Sridhar got the better of Andhra Pradesh opponent Anjan Viplav in the singles semifinal, which was stretched to the decider. Sridhar, unsettled by the big serves of Viplav, lost the first set but recovered well on time to win the next two before ensuring a place in the final scheduled on Saturday. Sridhar will face local challenger and fourth seeded Saurav Panja in the title clash. Panja, making an effective comeback after a prolonged lay-off with injury, stunned second seeded Kamala Kannan in the other semifinal to power his way to the final. The results: Singles: Semifinals: 1-Vinod Sridhar (TN) bt Anjan Viplav (AP) 4-6, 6-2, 6-3; 4-Saurav Panja (Ben) bt 2-Kamala Kannan (TN) 6-1, 7-5. Doubles: Final: 1-Vinod Sridhar & Kamala Kannan (TN) bt 2-Saurav Panja & Vinod Sewa (Ben) 7-6 (7-4), 7-5. Our Sports Reporter
